Website Now Offered In Spanish

The American Lung Association in Colorado is proud to announce that our website is now available in Spanish. This accomplishment is yet another milestone in our efforts to educate a broader group of citizens to lung disease, tobacco education, and the clean air issues we address.

Users will now see a blue Spanish button located below our category bars near the top right of the home page. When clicking this button a new home page will appear explaining the purpose of the American Lung Association as well as our Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative. Each category button located along the top; tobacco, clean air, asthma, lung disease, events, media and research directs the user to the appropriate page. All of these pages have been translated and are filled with educational lung health resources.

The inclusion of Spanish on our web site follows the success of our Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative. The program, targeting the monolingual mostly Spanish-speaking citizens within the Hanson neighborhood in Commerce City, aimed to reduce tobacco usage and increase awareness of secondhand smoke. This successful program combined with the double-digit projected increase in Spanish-speaking citizens in Colorado prompted us to take action. We are proud to be included in the now estimated 82 million Spanish-language web pages available serving more than 438 million speakers. We are very pleased to offer our Spanish-language website to the public, and we are hopeful that audiences we couldn’t reach before will now use this opportunity to improve their life, one breath at a time.
