Champ Camp, the ultimate summer camp for kids with asthma!

Denver, CO – This year marks the 28th anniversary of Champ Camp, the American Lung Association of Colorado’s weeklong summer camp for children ages 7 to 14 with moderate to severe asthma. Champ Camp 2007 will be held July 15 to 21 at Glacier View Ranch in Ward, Colorado. The American Lung Association is currently recruiting both campers and volunteers. Applications can be downloaded from the Web at http://www.lungcolorado.org/ChampCamp.htm, or call 303.388.4327 or 1-800-LUNG-USA.

Through fun outdoor and indoor activities such as ropes course, zipline, rock climbing, canoeing, and hiking, campers learn that asthma does not have to prevent them from living a full and active life. They return home with a wealth of asthma-management skills, as well as a new-found confidence, both of which are vital when dealing with day-to-day challenges.

Financial scholarships are available for campers. The actual cost is based on each family’s net income.

Each year, more than 100 volunteers, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, counselors, activity assistants and day volunteers willingly give of their time to ensure that Champ Camp is safe, fun and educational.

Please call 303-388-4327 or 1-800-LUNG-USA for more information.
